KadiVasti is an Ayurvedic treatment that involves the application of specially prepared warm medicated oil over the lower back area. It is a therapeutic procedure aimed at providing relief from various conditions related to the lower back, such as low back pain, lumbago, degenerative vertebral diseases, and disc prolapse. The procedure is the same for all types of external Vasthi treatments, like JanuVasti, Greevavasti etc.
The procedure begins by preparing a small pool, made of black gram dough, which is placed over the lower back region. This is then filled with the warm medicated oil. The oil used in KadiVasti is prepared by infusing it with a blend of herbs and medicinal ingredients that possess analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and rejuvenating properties. These herbal preparations are selected based on the specific condition being treated.
Once the oil is poured into the reservoir, it is allowed to remain there for a period of 30 to 45 minutes. During this time, the warmth of the oil penetrates the skin and reaches deep into the tissues of the lower back. The medicated oil works by nourishing the muscles, ligaments, and joints in the area, improving blood circulation, and reducing inflammation.
KadiVasti is particularly beneficial for addressing low back pain, a common complaint that can be caused by various factors such as muscle strain, ligament sprain, arthritis, disc-related issues, or degenerative conditions. The warm oil helps to relax the muscles, relieve muscle spasms, and alleviate the pain and discomfort. It also helps in improving the flexibility and mobility of the lower back.
KadiVasti helps in nourishing and strengthening the vertebral discs and surrounding structures, thereby promoting the health of the spine and reducing the progression of degenerative changes.
Additionally, KadiVasti is also beneficial for individuals with disc prolapse or herniated discs. The warm medicated oil used in this treatment can help to reduce the compression on the spinal nerves, relieving pain, and facilitating the healing process.
